Very Special Arts Singapore

Very Special Arts Singapore is a local charity organisation dedicated to increasing access for people with disabilities to the arts. They are one of the key drivers in the Arts and Disability movement in Singapore and have been running successful art programmes, workshops, competitions and arts exhibitions for the special needs community, creating awareness and integrating individuals with disabilities into mainstream society through the arts. Their programmes include: Arts in Learning, Rehabilitation and Training (ALERT), Arts for Livelihood and Employment (ALIVE), Arts for Performance and Expression (APEX), Voices of Individual’s Creative ExpressionS (VOICES). Through these programmes, they aim to promote the educational, social, rehabilitative and therapeutic benefits of visual, performing and literary arts. By teaching a new skill, they also hope to help individuals with disability gain financial independence through the arts and arts-creation.
